"I find it hard to put into words how much our day with Eddie at Rhizophyllia has blown my mind."

Stepping foot into this new world was a mind fulfilling adventure from start to finish. I have been on many Horticulture courses but this one was in a different league, brimming with knowledge at every turn. I feel as though I have dipped my toe into a new hidden world and feel truly grateful to Eddie for sharing this world with me. The whole day was a magical experience from Harry sharing an array of coffee to Courtney creating the most delicious lunch, thank you to the whole team for creating a space so warm and welcoming for guests to learn. I can't wait to come back for the next course

"I learnt so much in that one day it enabled me to start to using my microscope in a competent and confident way."

Having completed the online SFW foundation course, which has been an an extraordinary learning experience I found my self stuck as I needed some hands-on practical input from a face to face human to really fully understand and gain experience.
In a roundabout way, I found out about Eddie Bailey. I couldn’t believe my luck, he was Soil Food Web trained and so I signed up for his Microscopy course having no idea what to expect.
What I encountered was an extraordinary human being, who had great passion, empathy, tremendous knowledge, and the most wonderful generosity of self. He filled in all the missing links and more, I learnt so much in that one day it enabled me to start to using my microscope in a competent and confident way.
I’m so looking forward to my compost making day.
Spoiler alert 🔔 he has a wonderful family who add something just a little bit special to add! Maybe I will leave others to find out for themselves. Eddie thank YOU!!!

"Eddie makes it clear why homemade compost is a cut above the rest."

I attended the composting workshop with Eddie as I wanted to make better compost (teas and extracts) for my flower farm. Eddie makes it clear why homemade compost is a cut above the rest, how this feeds into the soil food web, and eventual plant health gains. I loved Eddie’s passionate and enthusiastic approach, I came away with lots of new insights and feel ready to continue on my soil health journey knowing that Eddie is there for support when I need it. I also joined Eddie on a full day microscopy workshop as I have been doing lots of research into soil health for my flower farm. I felt I needed some 1-2-1 tuition from someone who could fill in the gaps and explain soil food web processes to me in an easy to digest way. Eddie taught me how to properly prepare slides for viewing under the microscope and how to identify different microbes as an indicator of soil conditions. The composting workshop which tied in perfectly with this one and I’m looking forward to applying what I now know, and observing improvements in the future with the help of Eddie.

"It's biology and not chemistry that will create a brighter future for our food systems."

For anyone trying to improve the health of their plants and heal the soil Eddie's workshop is fantastic! His passion for the abundance of life within the soil is contagious. With that passion and his extensive expertise, he helps to paint a clear picture of the fractal nature of soil and the practical steps we can take to help regenerate it. It's biology and not chemistry that will create a brighter future for our food systems and having the support of an expert like Eddie helps accelerate the journey to rejuvenating the soil.

"Eddie’s soil food web workshop was absolutely fantastic!"

Eddie is so incredibly knowledgeable about the soil food web and shares that knowledge with a passion. It was a packed day of learning and the content was fascinating and it left me wanting to share all I’d learnt with my fellow gardeners and allotment-holders. I think the best part of the day, aside from the amazing home-cooked lunch, was getting to see our soil samples under the microscope. There really is a whole world beneath our feet and it was incredible to see it, as well as understand the reasons why we may be having issues with our soil and the things we can do to remedy those issues. A very practical workshop, I came away with a good understanding of how to apply what I learnt at my my own allotment and I’d absolutely recommend this workshop to anyone thinking of taking it.

"I have never been so excited by compost in all my life!"

I had the pleasure of going on the full day compost workshop - not only is the content utterly thrilling and exciting (wait till you see a nematode under the microscope!), Eddies delivery and his depth of knowledge along with his infectious enthusiasm makes the course unforgettable! Plus the course location is just incredible- a real inspiration indeed and the plant based lunch provided was divine. I am looking forward to build on my own knowledge with the tools he has given me…and I have never been so excited by compost in all my life! I would highly recommend for everyone!
